The VMT Newsroom Quick Facts Because the Universal Transmission will replace the expensive electric controller, ELECTRIC and HYBRID CARS will become competitively priced with great performance and range. In addition light trucks, vans, SUVs and other vehicles will enjoy the fuel savings without giving up performance or range. This is one of the most exciting aspects of the Universal Transmission. Savings on fuel will be significant for ALL sizes of vehicles. Estimates show fuel savings of up to 30% or more. If so the USA could reduce foreign oil dependency by up to 40%. The overall price of oil could drop. The Universal Transmission is completely scalable and is adaptable to virtually all applications from electric vehicles including SUVs to heavy equipment and tanks, from ships to windmills. Specifications for some of these applications are available in PDF form. (Frequently Asked Questions) Hear inventor, Gary Lee, explain how the Universal Transmission came about and what it will do for vehicles and the industry. The Universal Transmission provides unique qualities better appreciated when compared with other existing transmissions. To better understand this new technology, it is helpful to know the obstacles that had to be overcome and the goals that were achieved in its development. Interest in the Universal Transmission is spreading across the globe so, at the request of international vehicle and transmission makers, our basic power point presentation (Technology) has been produced in several languages. VMT licenses its IP - intellectual property. We are now selling Development Contracts on a limited basis. Full royalty licenses will be sold after Development Contracts are granted. Strategic partners are selected by their competitive dominance. They will have the advantage of an advance start and continued profits from competitors' sales. Letters of Intent Offered To Build New PE-IVT (transmission) Prototypes Letters of Intent and commitments have been offered to build the first prototypes of the Universal Transmission (UT). The UT is the first and only Positively Engaged metal-to-metal IVT. It provides maximum torque coming out of neutral through an infinite range of ratios - without the use of dynamic friction. The UT does so without a torque converter or clutch so it is constantly and positively engaged providing significant fuel savings while increasing performance. PROVO, Utah - April 6, 2010 - Multiple commitments to build the first Positively Engaged Infinitely Variable Transmission came after more than 10 major international OEMs and VMs received thorough presentations on the intellectual property of the Universal Transmission to their top management and senior engineers . Each company will be building a prototype for separate applications from electric cars and trucks to heavy equipment and tanks.
